Have you ever heard of Kansas City Disc Dogs?
They are a group of dogs and their owners that enjoy playing frisbee, for fun and competition.
They welcome everyone from beginners to experts to join their club. Whether you just want to play with your dog in the backyard or get involved with competing and performing - they can help!
So, join us for a quick demo and training advice on how to start and build drive for the disc.
No need to register. Just show up with your dog and join the fun.
Have you ever seen that amazing race on TV? Where they fly contestants around the world to complete random challenges to avoid elimination? Well, now we have the canine version. Sort of.
We are partnering up with Dogs Life KC to bring you the 1st Annual PAWmazing Race!
We won't be flying you to Jamacia or asking you to repel down a castle wall - but we will have you and your dog traversing a 15 challenge course to see who can cross the finish line first.
Holistic care for animals is a fast growing field. But some dog owners might be intimidated or maybe they just aren’t sure where to start. Well, here you go.
Join us for this hands on workshop to learn more about canine acupuncture, massage, stretching, and chiropractic care.
Dr. Hunt will demonstrate a posture analysis and gait analysis. She will discuss how to know that your pet needs chiropractic care and will demonstrate joint palpation & adjustment. She will also do a group class, teaching participants how to stretch their dogs to help prevent arthritis. (30-45 minutes)
Liz Jeans will lead a hands on review of some massage techniques they can use at home on their pets. (30 minutes)
Dr. Barchman will demonstrate canine acupuncture, discuss Chinese food therapy, and review the benefits of essential oils. (30-45 minutes)
Due to the hands on nature of this workshop, participation will be limited to 20 dog/handler pairs. There is no charge for participation but you must register online to receive your free ticket.
Participants will need to exercise their dogs before the workshop to use up any excess energy. You will also need to bring your own chairs and a mat/pad for you and your dog to use during floor exercises.
Are you and your dog bored with the regular routine? Would you like to get out and about but end up settling for the same boring walks around the block? Is your dog a bit reactive so you avoid other dogs or people? STOP!! There is a better way.
They get-together for all types of social events all throughout the Kansas City area - group walks, hikes, dog park get-togethers, brunch & happy hour on the patio, dog festivals, dog-related charity events, potlucks and more!
Membership is free, and they ask that members attend at least one event every three months - that's not hard to do! They have 2-4 KC Dog Club events every week. They welcome dogs who need socialization with other dogs and humans. Their members aim to help each other and help their pups through any of their anxieties - they are a judgment free group of dog lovers!
Sound like fun? Come on out, with your dog, and break the ice - meet and chat with members before your first event. This is a dog friendly event.
